Bundeskunsthalle Bonn Exhibitions 2025
Bundeskunsthalle Bonn Exhibitions 2025 is one of Germany’s cultural heavyweights – and in 2025, Bundeskunsthalle Bonn Exhibitions 2025 will once again be bringing world-class art to the Rhine. From masterpieces of French Impressionism to a spectacular manga retrospective: the calendar of events is bursting with highlights. Why a day trip is particularly worthwhile – and how to secure your tickets with just a few clicks.
Exhibition highlights 2025 – from Monet to manga
The Bundeskunsthalle is curating three blockbuster shows in 2025. “Monet and the Birth of Light” kicks things off in February. Around 60 works on loan from Paris, London and Chicago will shed light on the artist’s journey from realism to a frenzy of color. From June, things will get poppy: “Manga-Majesty” follows illustrators from Osamu Tezuka to CLAMP through seven decades of Japanese comic history. Interactive stations, VR booths and original sketches transform the hall into an urban studio – selfies expressly encouraged! Autumn finale: “Art & Climate” shows installations that deal with the flooding of the Rhine and climate data. An invitation for Bonn residents to reflect on the change on their doorstep. Tip: If you want to see all three exhibitions, book the new **Combi-Ticket** – it saves 25% compared to individual admissions.
Practical information – opening hours, tickets & money-saving tricks
The Bundeskunsthalle is open Tuesdays to Sundays from 10 am to 6 pm, on Thursdays even until 9 pm for “Late Night Art” with a DJ set. Online tickets start from €12; at the box office it will be €2 more. Families take note: Children under 12 are free, while the family ticket (two adults + three kids) costs just €26. New in 2025 is the dynamic slot system – simply select a 30-minute window and avoid the queues. With the **Bonn Regio Welcome Pass**, guests also receive free use of public transport and a 20% discount. The pass can be purchased at any SWB stop or loaded online as a mobile ticket. Saving tip: The admission price is halved on Thursdays from 6 pm. If you want to combine your visit with shopping, you can exchange your ticket for a coffee + brownie in the museum store.
Arrival from the Oberwinter vacation apartment – a relaxed trip to the museum
It is just under 30 minutes from our apartment to the Museumsmeile. If you are driving, take the B9 to the “Bonn-Zentrum” exit and park in the “Museumsmeile” parking garage (maximum daily rate €8). It’s more convenient by train: from Rolandseck station, the RE5 takes you to Bonn main station in 14 minutes; from there, the subway line 16 runs every 10 minutes to “Heuss-allee/Museumsmeile” station – journey time 4 minutes. Cyclists can follow the Rhine cycle path; 250 covered parking spaces and eight new e-bike charging stations are available on site. If you want to travel more sustainably, use our **rental e-bike** right outside the apartment door (reservation via app). By the way: holders of the event ticket travel free of charge on the VRS – simply show your PDF on the train.
Supporting program – roof garden, café & temporary installations
The Kunsthalle surprises far beyond its walls. Mediterranean herbs grow next to beehives on the accessible roof garden – in summer, sunset concerts take place here and sell out quickly. The “Speisesaal” café serves regional tapas and an exclusive “Rhein-Spritz” variation with Ahr-Secco and elderberry. The 30-minute architectural tour starts twice a day (€3 surcharge), during which you will learn how star architect Gustav Peichl brought light, concrete and copper into harmony in 1992. In 2025, the Berlin group “Lichtpiraten” will also install a laser-based Rhine water sculpture, visible from the forecourt of the subway – the perfect motif for your Insta-Reel!
Family & group offers – learning creatively instead of just looking
Workshops such as “Mini-Monets” or “Manga in 90 minutes” let kids aged 8 and over wield brushes and tablets themselves. The course fee (€8 incl. materials) sells out quickly in advance, so book early. For adults, there is after-work sketching with a live model and a new escape game (“Save the Rhine!”) in which teams solve puzzles about climate data. Accessibility is a top priority: All levels are accessible by elevator, wheelchairs are available to borrow free of charge, and the “BayernGuide” app provides audio descriptions in five languages. Groups of 10 or more receive a 10% discount – ideal for business guests who want to soak up some culture after a business dinner at the Rheinblick.
Conclusion: the perfect combination of art enjoyment and Rhine romance
Whether impressionism, pop culture or climate art – the Bundeskunsthalle Bonn exhibitions 2025 offer the right highlight for everyone. Thanks to clever ticket options and lightning-fast travel from Oberwinter, the cultural day can be planned both spontaneously and conveniently. Experience art, history and enjoyment in one go!
