1. which vacation apartments belong to “Ferienwohnung Oberwinter” and what is the difference between them?
We currently rent out three accommodations: the comfort studio, the Deluxe Apartment in Remagen-Oberwinter and the Smart Home Bonn in Bonn-Bad Godesberg. The Comfort Studio is a modern, open-plan studio with a king-size bed, terrace and PS4; the Deluxe Apartment offers a separate bedroom, living room and large terrace with a view of the Rhine Valley; the Smart Home Bonn is a stylishly furnished city apartment with smart home technology and a balcony. 2. where exactly are your vacation apartments located and how far is it to Bonn, Cologne and Koblenz?
The Comfort Studio and Deluxe Apartment are located in Remagen-Oberwinter on the Rheinhöhe – around 16 km south of Bonn (around 15-20 minutes by car or train) and around 38 km from Cologne and Koblenz (around 30-40 minutes’ drive, depending on traffic). The Smart Home Bonn is located in

Our vacation apartments in the Bonn region are ideal for holidaymakers who want to combine a view of the Rhine, nature and excursions to Bonn, Cologne or the Ahr Valley, for business travelers and remote workers who need fast WiFi, a desk and good public transport connections, as well as for fitters and project teams who appreciate free parking, a washing machine and a fully equipped kitchen. Families particularly benefit from the garden with play facilities in Oberwinter and the central location of Smart Home Bonn. 4. how can I book with you – directly via your website or only via platforms such as Airbnb and Booking?
You can book directly via our page “Book” or use the button on the individual apartment pages.
Our accommodations are also listed on popular platforms such as AirBnB and Booking – but direct contact via our website is usually the more personal and cheaper solution because there is no AirBnB/Booking.com/etc. agency fee.
5. is there a minimum stay or can I book just one night?
In the Comfort Studio Oberwinter and the Deluxe Apartment Oberwinter there is generally no fixed minimum stay – depending on availability, a single overnight stay is also possible. In the Smart Home Bonn (Bad Godesberg) there is usually a minimum stay of two nights. Occasionally, single nights can be booked if there is a gap between two existing reservations; these are displayed in the booking calendar. You can see the currently valid minimum stays and availability at any time on our “Book” page or in the calendar of the respective apartment.
6. what payment options do you offer for direct bookings?
For direct bookings, payment is usually made by bank transfer to our bank account details stated in the booking confirmation.
If you book via a platform such as Airbnb or Booking, you use their integrated payment methods – as you are familiar with from other trips. You will always receive the details transparently with your offer or confirmation.
7. what are your cancellation conditions and do they differ depending on the booking channel?
Yes, the cancellation conditions differ depending on the booking channel. If you book via Airbnb or Booking, the respective rules apply. In the case of
8. how does check-in work – is there self-check-in with a key box or key issue?
In the Comfort Studio Oberwinter and the Deluxe Apartment Oberwinter, check-in takes place conveniently via a key box directly at the house. This allows you to arrive flexibly and contactlessly – even late in the evening or after a long day at work. At Smart Home Bonn (Bad Godesberg), contactless check-in takes place via a partner petrol station nearby, where you will receive your key. You will receive all details about the address, key box code or key issue and directions by e-mail in good time before your arrival; additional information can be found on our page Contact page and in our digital guest folder.
9. at what times are check-in and check-out possible?
By default, check-in is scheduled in the afternoon and check-out in the morning so that we can thoroughly clean and prepare the apartments for the next guests. If it suits your travel or work schedule better, we will try to accommodate early check-in or late check-out subject to availability. 10. can I park directly at the accommodation and are there any additional costs?
Yes, you can park free of charge in the immediate vicinity of all accommodation. In Oberwinter there are parking spaces directly on the property at the house and on the street, at Smart Home Bonn there are parking spaces along the street, plus a public e-charging station nearby.
11. how easy is it to reach the vacation apartments by public transport if I arrive without a car?
The apartments in Remagen-Oberwinter benefit from the Remagen-Oberwinter train station, from which you have very good connections along the Rhine to Bonn, Cologne, Koblenz and the Ahr valley. It is around 1,000 meters from the station to our apartments on the Rheinhöhe – depending on your pace, around 10-15 minutes on foot or a few minutes by cab. At Smart Home Bonn, you can reach the bus stop for line 610 in just a few minutes on foot and Bonn-Bad Godesberg train station in around 10 minutes on foot. From there, you can travel to Bonn main station, the Rheinaue or towards Cologne without changing buses or with short connections. 12. do all vacation apartments have reliable Wi-Fi and are they suitable for working from home or remotely?
Yes, all our apartments have stable, free WiFi, which is suitable for streaming as well as for working from home. In the Deluxe Apartment, you also have a desk as a creative retreat, while the dining table in the Comfort Studio and Smart Home Bonn can be used as a home office.
13. are the kitchens in the vacation apartments fully equipped (stove, oven, dishwasher, Nespresso machine, etc.)?
Yes, the kitchens in all our accommodations are fully equipped to a high standard – with everything you really need for everyday life: Stove or hob, oven, microwave, fridge (some with freezer compartment), dishwasher, plenty of pots, pans, knives, cooking utensils, crockery & cutlery as well as a Nespresso machine. So you can easily cater for yourself: from a quick breakfast before your appointment to a relaxed dinner after a hike or a stroll through the city.
14. is there a washing machine or dryer in all accommodation – even for longer stays?
Yes, all three accommodations have their own washing machine, and the Comfort Studio and Smart Home Bonn even have a washing machine with integrated dryer. This means you are independent of laundrettes even during longer stays, workations or assembly assignments.
15. how are the beds equipped (size, mattress quality) and how many people can sleep comfortably in each apartment?
In the Comfort Studio Oberwinter, you sleep on a large king-size bed with a high-quality Bodyguard mattress (Bett1.de) – ideal for up to 2 people with very good sleeping comfort. In the Deluxe Apartment Oberwinter there is a box-spring bed with high-quality Emma mattresses in the bedroom and a comfortable sofa bed in the living room , also with a Bodyguard mattress. This means that up to 4 people can sleep here comfortably without anyone having to sleep “on the emergency solution”.
In the Smart Home Bonn, there is a comfortable double bed with a high-quality bodyguard mattress (Bett1.de) as well as an additional sleeping option on the couch in the living room, so that up to 3 guests can sleep here in comfort. The beds in all apartments are made up with fresh, high-quality bed linen on your arrival.
16. what extras are included in the price – e.g. bed linen, towels, final cleaning, Rituals products, Nespresso capsules?

17. are your vacation apartments also suitable for longer stays, project work or interim rentals – and are there special conditions for this?
Yes, our apartments are expressly designed for long-term stays, project work and interim rentals – with a washing machine, fully equipped kitchen, fast Wi-Fi and a quiet location. We are happy to check individual conditions for stays of two weeks or more. The easiest way to contact us is via “Contact” or make an inquiry via “Book”.
18. are fitters, craftsmen and business travelers welcome here and what is particularly practical for these target groups?
Yes, fitters, craftsmen and business travelers are expressly welcome here. The quiet location, free parking, flexible self-check-in, good connections to Bonn, Cologne, Koblenz and the Ahr valley, as well as washing machines and fully equipped kitchens are particularly practical. 19. do you issue proper invoices for companies and business travelers (including company details and VAT ID if applicable)?
Yes, we issue proper invoices for companies and business travelers on request – including company name, address and, if required, VAT ID. Please enter your invoice details directly when making your request via “Book“ or in the contact form so that we can prepare the invoice correctly from the outset.
20. are children welcome in your vacation apartments and are there child-friendly facilities or a garden to use?
Yes, children are very welcome here. Especially in the two apartments in Oberwinter, families benefit from the large garden with play equipment (e.g. swings, trampoline), which can be used by arrangement. 21. are pets allowed in your accommodations or are they pet-free apartments (e.g. for allergy sufferers)?
In principle, our accommodation is designed as pet-free, non-smoking apartments in order to cater in particular for allergy sufferers and guests with high hygiene requirements. In justified individual cases (e.g. assistance dog, longer-term booking) you can still contact us – via the “Contact“ page we will clarify together whether and how a solution is possible.
22. which house rules generally apply – e.g. smoking, parties, quiet times, maximum number of people?
All apartments are non-smoking accommodations, parties or events are not permitted, and we ask you to observe the usual quiet times in the house and neighborhood. The maximum number of persons depends on the respective apartment (Comfort Studio up to 2 guests, Deluxe Apartment up to 4 guests, Smart Home Bonn up to 3 guests) and may not be exceeded for safety and comfort reasons. You will also receive the most important house rules with the booking confirmation and in our digital guest folder, so that everything is clear from the start.
